Hi all,

I've not got many details, but there's a one-owner 944s for sale with a 3.0lt engine fitted 20K miles ago. It sounds like potentially an interesting car, it's on Autotrader, or I can pass you on to the owner. He's wanting rid, so is negotiable on price and has it advertised locally for less.

Indeed - wonder if it's got the four-pot Brembos to back it up from the S2? [:-]

Mmmm, and change stated on the V5, insured as modified etc, the one owner is a plus otherwise a real S2 seems to make more sense.

Well, the insurance is up to whoever buys it: it makes no difference at all how the previous owner may have insured it. It does want to have the correct capacity on the V5 though.

The advert suggests the engine change is the only mod. Still, it is lighter than an S2.

My point was not insuring it as modified could have consequences for any new owner in the event of a large claim, what was yours ?.

I think that the originl ATE brakes will be up to the job. They were fitted to heavier and far more powerful 928s.

Oh, I just thought you were suggesting that the way the previous insurer had modified it might have some bearing on its present value (along with such questions as what brakes are fitted). It seems we agree it does not.
