944 roof rack.

Roof rack for a 944.?
Has anybody seen one of these for sale recently.?
If so, how much was it.
IE what are they worth.?

I'd say £200 was pretty much the rate for a genuine set, with all the pieces. Often the ones that come up seem to be missing bits.

The Thule roof rack mentioned on Tipec is just a roof rack which fits, it isn't a roof transport system.

I picked one up from ebay last year - a bit tatty and missing some of the rubber feet protectors, but certainly good enough for carrying track wheels (two in the boot and two on the roof) [:)]

Can't remember what I paid for it but I think it was less than £50 - bargain!

If ever a roof rack mounting could look cool that has to be it. I'm not digging the front ones but the back are so nice you wouldn't want to take them of. ;-)

What's your problem? You're such a 'know it all' about 944s, but I cannot understand why you're so negative about this - both on here and on TIPEC.

They are hardly 'just a roof rack which fits'..... they were manufactured by Thule to fit the 944.

You clearly don't want them, so mind your own business and just leave others to make their own decisions.

I post in a matter of fact way - usually because Im rushing. I share what I know and I try to help wherever I can,

It isnt a roof transport system (which is worth a good deal more than £100), which is what I have said here and on Tipec. People thought that it was and were excited, so you listed it on eBay to try to make more money. Stop acting like a child John and feel free to take this up with me in person if we meet.

I'll take that as a threat..... so now who's acting like a child!

Never mind, I'm sure you impress yourself - if nobody else.

I got a set identical to these for £100 posted of ebay. I was monitoring them months before I bought a 944 due to how rare they are and was lucky I managed to pick a set up within a few weeks of buying the car. I found it was best to just kept monitoring ebay for some at the right price, as a pair came up before this butt he guy wanted something like £250iirc which I was not willing to pay.

From experience it is best to wait for the Porsche ones to turn up on Ebay. In haste I initially brought secondhand Thule ones (£25 three years ago) and though they were okay they aren't as good as the original Porsche ones I subsequently purchased (£50 two years ago).
