944 Rolling Road Day - 10th August

Its been a while since we had a rolling road day (2010?), so I thought I might organise one in the coming months if we have enough interest. What do you think? Its a good opportunity to measure any modifications made, or check on engine health after 20+ years.

If this goes ahead it will be held somewhere in the south east as thats where I am based (the last rolling road day was in Cheshire), its usually about £35-£45 a run with print out.

I prefer to live in blissful ignorance and the fond, optimistic, belief that few (if any) of my ponies have escaped the corral. To discover otherwise might result in unwanted expenditure trying to round them all up again. [;)] The car goes well enough. I'm not interesting in opening this particular can of worms so I'll pass.

Is the idea to keep this session limited to front engined cars only? If not, my friend in his Boxster S will most likely join us.

I'd look for a dyno dynamics rr if you can. that's what we've used before at Silverstone. the name surrey rolling road springs to mind? what would be really cool would be to do some extra runs - promax chip vs std for example. (easiest way is to just swap dme's between cars)

Ed good point re dyno dynamics, used these last time so may be better for consistency, I'l look up Surrey rolling road. Promax v standard is exactly what I did last time, but over two dyno days in different years, the difference being the Promax chip gave 5% more peak power, and 20% more torque at 3500rpm over the standard chip, although this was with K&N (panel) filter also. I may even still have the print outs somewhere. Edd
