944 rear spoiler

Sx3

New member

Hello,
I would like to fit one of the S2/Turbo style 2 piece spoilers that fit under the rear of the 944.

Would this be easy to do on my 2.7 Lux?

thanks, Bob

Hi Bob

Don't know if it's easy as I didn't do it myself, but it's certainly possible - there's one on my '86 Lux. (Looks good too). Having looked at the spoiler on Ebay it looks like a bolt on job, but I'm not sure what it bolts to on the Lux...

I'm sure someone who knows more than me can give you a more useful answer.

Best,

Giles

It bolts on after youve drilled the holes...

Id suggest buying a PU original part from a breaker - about the same price but far higher quality.

What Simon says. [:)]

So long as you get the holes in the right place you're fine, obviously treat them for rust where you drill through.

I'd go for a genuine one, they're so cheap and you'll probably be able to get the right colour.

Thanks for that I am going to try Douglas Valley Breakers near Chorley for an original one.

So, all I need to do is find the right place, drill through and 'nut and bolt' it! Sounds easy...

Yes, it must be easy - I did it on my 2.7. Just take your time deciding where to drill the holes. Make sure the the spoiler has all 4 bolts (2 on each side) firmly attached to it as often one of these are missing. You will need 5 captive nuts with bolts for the underneath fixings (cheaply available from OPC).

Douglas Valley Breakers eh?

Im not sure - if my choice was either DVB or Porscheshop, which would I actually choose.....? Neither: Id sooner go without.

OP; there are a number of FAR better and cheaper dismantlers out there, so I cant see there ever being a need for you to call DVB.

Just to add, I bought my genuine one off Ebay for £60 last year. I waited for one near to me so I could collect and avoid postage.

....OK, any in the Lancaster/Blackpool/Chorley areas??

Buttercup; he is in Ramsbottom. Porschapart. You can buy cheaper, of course; but theyre reliable.

Id look to eBay first, and not be in too much of a rush. If you can wait youll have a good chance of getting an original part at a good price; maybe even in the correct colour.

There's a thread on Rennlist with pictures of how they did it - http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/924-931-944-951-968/229974-new-valence-installation.html
