Porsche fitted tailgate? I cant see why Porsche would wont to fit a different tailgate to the car from that which was going into production? One it would be misleading and two it might put people off!

An Escort mk3 RS 1600i with 2000 miles on went for 26k recently, crappy fwd Escort vs a Porsche, hmm.

Good point!

It doesn't seem to be a problem that only affects the classics though...

Interesting. 170 miles from home so it's a bit far for me to nip up and take a casual look. Closer and I'd be tempted. I'm not in the market, mind you, just curious. The last thing I need is a garage queen, I like to drive my Porsche.

The advert raises all sorts of questions and you'd need to see some very comprehensive, watertight, provenance before even considering it worth anywhere near that sum. At the very least a conversation with Porsche would be necessary to confirm the car's identity.
