944 gear shift gaiter

pendrifter

New member
Hi,
Hope someone has the experience, and detailed instruction and maybe pics. [A lot to ask I know!]
The plastic insert/clip has broken, is it mendable with supaglue?
If so how do I get it back in place, tried several times but can't sort it out.
Thanks in advance

There is a good guide to the whole assembly here:

I thought he was talking about the rectantular clip that holds the the leather in place at the bottom of the gaiter.

I had a split in the middle off my old plastic clip, that springs out holding the base off the leather gattier, just needed a little playing with and it would sit right and stay like that till I needed 2 remove, unless it's broke in 2 peaces? Like 2 parts

Hi All,
Thanks for quick replies - pity I didn't explain better!
But Copperman05 has it. I can't seem to get the hang of how the leather cover is held in place by the rectangular clip?
I notice the leather cover has an elastic tape round it. Presuming that this goes round the plastic before you try to position the plastic into the surround?

I'll try again this morning.

Regards
