I've got rid of the old "events" sticky, as it was sitting there dated 2007. Updated since then, of course, but time for a new one!

Most of this is taken from info Glenn S put together, so thanks for that. Please, if you're going to any car-related events let us know, as often others might be interested in joining up. Most of these aren't Club events, so anyone is welcome. [:)]

May 4th Brands Hatch PCGB Championship

Come and support the transaxle cars running in the PCGB Championship.

Arrive at the circuit for @8:30, park on the South Bank and head down to "Hailwood's" for breakfast followed by some tyre kicking in the paddock.

£10 on the gate.

20th May, revised 944 track day at Bedford.

See here for details of drivers, spectators and food afterwards.

26th-28th July Silverstone Classic

This is our National event for 2013, and although it's largely devoted to the 50th Anniversary of something or other, we're planning a picnic lunch on the Sunday for 944 owners. Tickets have to be bought in advance, thanks to Silverstone, and I know most of you took advantage of the special offer and infield parking.

14th September "YouDrive" @ Silverstone Porsche Experience Centre

Take your own car for some instruction on the "kick plate" and "ice hill" and then do some laps of the "handling circuit" in a 911.

Breakfast and 3-course lunch included. Morning session, places limited so book early; £165.

17th November Snetterton Charity Race Experience Day

Meet for breakfast. Drive to Snetterton race circuit. Spend a few hours looking at the race cars, classic cars and take a passenger ride in a race car if you fancy it!

Drive in company to a local pub for a late lunch / early dinner.

£5 on the gate, plus whatever you spend on breakfast / dinner.

Can you add the Bedford track day on the 20th May please?

You just have! [:)]

So how is this going to work? We used to have the sticky that was locked, so if you wanted to add an event you needed to go through the onerous task of mailing one of the mods. So, no-one ever did! [:D]

If we leave it open, people will need to delete their posts once an event's gone. I s'pose we really need a calendar, but that has to wait for the new website/forum.

Can we have a ground-rule that people don't reply to posts here, but start a new thread if they want to know about one event? Otherwise we'll lose the important stuff. Just post here if you want to add an event.

Unless anyone has other suggestions? I guess a lot of this should be in the Regions, rather than Registers, but unfortunately not every region is up to date on the forum. []

Just to add, we do have a calendar facility here, it's next to "log out". I guess we'd all feel it was unlikely people would look there if I set one up for 944 events? It would make sense, but not if people aren't looking at it.

There are still places for the St.George Rally and just over a week to get your entry in.
This (as the Cotswold Rally) used to be domanated by the 944 Register and there has been a significant entry over the last few years.
Your R.O. Paul McNulty is one of the senior Marshals .

Hi Paul,

I personally would like the thread locked and used for 944 only dedicated events (as the sticky title)

I agree, thats not to say we leave out the official PCGB events but they should have a '944 meet' or contingent incorporated into it to qualify (just as the Silverstone Classic picnic does).

Plans and ideas for 944 events are usually discussed on the main 944 forum so it should be pretty clear what will need to be added to this thread, etc.

Unfortunately the organisers have announced the cancellation of the Charity Race Experience Day at Snetterton in November. That is therefore off the list. Such a shame as it was a great day out last year.

Indeed we have, a transaxle meet on Saturday 16th November at the Classic Motorshow at Birmingham's NEC.

We haven't seen you guys at Ace Cafe for a while .... and with next Monday being a Bank Holiday ..... would be rude not to join us.

Sorry gents can't do this coming Monday, Glenn and I were actually talking about a 44 gather at the Ace in September last night.
Hope to see you then?

You need to get your glasses sorted, then. I was at the last one [8D]

Unfortunately I can't do this coming Monday. September's meeting is likely for me.
