We call them Phonedials and I am suprised someone is actually sourcing them. I think they rival the Cookiecutter as Porsches most ugly wheel. Only one man's opinion though.[;)]

It there any advantage in calling them something different to everyone else?

I think they are a damn sight nicer looking than the 928 style flat disks (and I've got a set for track days) [:'(]
 
The turbo ones don't acutally look too bad once they're on because they are deeper than the 15" ones. They just look outdated. In fact I seem to remember seeing a new car in one of the magazines with Teledial-style wheels fitted, and of course Alpha Romeo have always stuck with the design, it seems like fashion like wheels continue to go round!
 
I thought you were set up with Scott's set? I know there was a lot of confusion, but his are 16" teledials
 
Yeah but the asking price was far to expensive for me. The price could of been the right price but at the end of the day, im looking for a set just to get the car rolling. And my dad is after a set of 16s like whats on it at the moment.
 
OK, understood, I just thought there was some confusion.

I have to say I can't understand the need to get 16" Teledials if it's just a temporary thing while the current wheels are being refurbed. If you just need to get the car rolling as cheaply as possible then buy a grotty set of 15" Cookie Cutters or Teledials. Something that's rare is always going to equate to more expensive.
 
thats what i wanted to do but my dad wants to have 16s. Stupid i know but o well. If it was my money and my car i would of got a set of 15s just to roll it out.
 
H4xOr7000, what year is your car?

If its pre 87, you will need pre 87 wheels, if its post 87 you will need post 87 wheels.

In other words, if you have an 86 and you fit 88 wheels, the wheels will sit inside the wheel arches by about an inch and a half making the car look very odd.

Likewise, if your car is an 88 and you fit a set of 86 teledials, then the rears will totally fill the arches, almost too much, and the front wheels will stick out from the arches by about 1/4 to 1/5 of an inch.

At the right price, I may be interested in a set of 87 onwards teledials for a track car we are building at the moment.

I like the look of them actually.

Hows the car coming along Chris? have you made any trick bits yet?

Some of us like them!! although after 9 years I have changed them to 16"s the ride is soooo much better but I am not happy with the new look the 18"s looked far better and had that individuality about them.

They are Sport Design replica's and are one piece.

The only thing which I think would improve the look would be to drop it a bit.

I think you may be referring to "Appleton's" car - that was a lovely car!!
 
Yes, Nick had them on his red Turbo and they did suit it rather splendidly. I like them on Andys too [:)]
 
I though tthat it was Nicks car, but I wasnt certain. Rear spacers and torsion bar adjustment are key to making them work aesthetically. Theyll never properly work as wheels though as theyre just too large in diameter.

I have 17" wheels on mine, which it came with. Ive kept them even though I have refurbished 7.5" & 9" 16" wheels boxed in my garage, the tyre choice for 16" wheels is pretty poor now and the prices excessive.
 
I've tried various options on mine but finally I am really happy with the 17"...rides a little harder but more than acceptable and the look is much nicer[:D] just need to lower it a bit
