Having recently acquired a 928 S4 I have a short shopping list and I don't know how helpful PCGB will be be? Or will I have to surf the net ?
1. 928 S4 logo for tailgate to replace worn out version. Obtained one form Porsche Cambridge
2. Is it possible to get number plates via PCGB ? Preferably with a Porsche logo possibly ? Porsche Cambridge supplied
3. Can I go to a regular tyre depot to get the toe in, camber and castor etc checked as the front tyres are wearing on the outside. Or is it a specialised job for Porsche ? Airtek in Stamford were able to sort this for me
I haven't really got the hang of the Forum process so forgive me if I've taken the wrong approach. PCGB not much help so far but will persevere


 
Hello...Update on my 928 S4 project...Porsche Cambridge have been superb in supporting my project. However there is a part which is hard to source. 928 S4's have tyre pressure sensors built in to each road wheel The rears are a different part no. to those in the front. One of the rears wheels needs replacement sensors (2).

Anyone know where to find some please?

Hello...thanks for your message. I really appreciate it. My efforts to get help via this website have not been at all successful so far. So I hope your suggestions change that. I think the 928 is not of much interest to the majority of members. Therefore the pool of useful information is quite small.

 
Have you tried 928.org.uk? They have a good mailing list system where you can ask questions/source parts etc

Good luck finding the nuts for the sensors. In the end I had some made by a local engineering company. Nobody seems to sell them anymore - well, at a price any sane person is prepared to pay! There's another member on here also looking for those.

 
I appreciate your thoughts even though the outlook is gloomy. One other suggestion I received was to contact 928intl.com. I received a prompt reply from USA. They have the parts I need but $380 seems rather a lot?

As you have personal experience of this matter I wonder if disconnecting TPMS altogether is an option? It seems a pity is its only one rear wheel which has faulty sensors. The other 3 wheels work. Like you I don't want to pay such a high price. Kind regards Robert Caldecott

 
Found an article on 928.org.uk. How to disconnect the TP warning and stop the flashing light on the dash. So that may be an option if I really can't find the parts. Very useful advice thanks

 
I got a couple of sensors from my local independent who had some 928 wheels lying about! The nuts that attach the sensors are another thing. Rosepassion used to have both but now have neither sensor nor nut.

So it might be worth ringing round a few Porsche indies. I wanted to keep mine original if at all possible and the deactivation would have been the last resort! The joys, eh?

 
I followed up Rosepassion. They responded quickly thanks. They say they have the parts but the price ..OMG..1000 + Euros

 
Instinctively I echo your feelings i.e. I would like to get them working rather than disconnect. We have 3 working we just need 2 sensors for the n/s rear wheel to complete the job and get the warning on the dash to cease.
