Tom's '89 S2 is going up for sale in the new year: It black leather is in V good condition, new MOT, 115k miles all belts done, D90's as well as Turbo Twists, non-standard radio and aftermarket steering wheel, but otherwise stock. So how much should he be asking for?

Auto Trader is your friend. The whole car market is all over the place currently so I wouldn't like to speculate. I might suggest leave it a few months as it seems to be levelling out again after something of a plummet.

Yes that's what we thought. There's no rush better to wait until spring and get a couple of K more.

He's got a two car garage, but the race car takes up half of it:

A few things I might suggest for the purest:-

Clean off all traces of the Nurburgring sticker
Replace the clear indicators with orange
Remove the LED DRLs
Repaint the callipers black
Refurb and put the D90's on it
Paint out the red lettering on the door handles
Sort out the rear bumper Porsche script - it seems to stick up at the ends
Re-install the rear wiper

It may sound a bit harsh but the above are all a bit "Boy Racer" where as, for the best money, as you suggest in your post, you want it as near to stock as you can get it.

You also want the anti chip vinyl panels in front of the rear arches.
And a batwing - although I can't remember if S2's had batwings.
