8 day Euro Trip

ORIGINAL: zcacogp I could however think about doing the same route over a longer period of time, perhaps with each driving day interspersed with a sightseeing day. I'd probably enjoy that more and I know Mrs zcacogp would certainly enjoy it more.
If I were to organise a similar tour thats what I would do, alpine roads are my favourite, a day in the hills beats any track day hands down for me. Edd

Our Euro trip (Ruddy, Totty, Martin M and Mike Moore) to Germany was superb but next time i would like to spend more time stopping and looking around places, Ruddy is already planning another Germany trip for next year so watch this space.

10-4 that Big Boy. Track days have their place, but a good day on an alpine pass or two is a WHOLE load more fun than driving in circles. Oli.

Simon, your wish...

Sounds like an excellent trip Edd with some superb roads. Good to see the 944 holding up well against some mighty Modern Italian and German machinery [:)] Keep the pics coming [;)]

Us northern lads would have dived in the pool with our shreddies on ! is Nathan's car a tip or does he drive a manual ? Big respect to him he's got some trick legs there [:D]

Yeah its an auto, really good bloke, typical squady humour, we had a laugh. He doesnt get much feel off the pedals but he manages pretty well judging the speeds we were going. Edd

ORIGINAL: MartinRS2K We would have jumped in the lake as well [:)]
And complaind about the 'foreign food', why there was no full English breakfast, why you couldnt get Carling, why the pints were 500ml and smaller, shall I go on! [:D][:D] Edd

Looks a fantastic road trip Edd - myself and Mrs Suffolk944 are hoping to have a similar trip through the Rhineland and down to an alp or two next year all being well. Perhaps the 944 massive should look to organise some mini UK trips along similar lines ? Have floated the idea a few times (along with others) but always seems a difficult thing to get firm interest/commitment for from enough people at the same time to make it a worthwhile exercise.

I was on a throughly enjoyable Highlands / Skye trip last year and would love to repeat that or something else in the UK in the short term. Would still love a Euro trip though.

Yeah a 944 'tour' of some sort would be a good idea, a weekend in Wales could be organised for not silly money and then perhaps a bigger trip some time later if there is enough interest. I tried it before but perhaps gave up a little too early, properly organised I'm sure it would work. Frenchy and others organised their own museum trip last year. The Alps/Pyrenees really are the ultimate attainable driving roads if your willing to pay the cost in fuel... Edd

"What no meat and tattie pies ! bugger this i am off home" bloody foreigners grumble grumble [:D]

Is this the same Nathan who is in the second picture on here? http://www.missionmotorsport.org/drivers-excuses/ Sounds like he does better with Porsches than BMW's ... which may further question your reasons to change your car Edd! Oli.

Yes the very same, Nathan is a top bloke, not surprised he was a bit unsure of taking an uninsured 80k M5 on track though. He's had more cars I can only dream of... "Nathan 'BMW Finance" Cumberland" [:D]. Edd
