I've just gone past 8,000 miles in around 8 months. I had an oil change done a few weeks ago when I had just over 7,000 miles on the clock.
The engine is sounding very sweet indeed and seems to rev a lot more freely than it used to do. It still has some way to go to loosen up properly though. No problems to report - just a couple more stonechips on the windscreen!
The paintwork is in excellent condition - the several coats of P21S Carnauba wax last year probably helped a lot in protecting the paint from elements over the last few months. The wheels are also unmarked. Again, the wheel wax that I use (Swissol) has probably helped to keep them in good condition (in addition to the P21S wheel cleaner).
The leather sports seats are still in excellent condition although the side padding on the drivers seat is a little wrinkled with all the getting in and out of the car. Other than that, the interior, including the carbon-effect door sills, is still like new.
My fuel consumption has deteriorated slightly in recent months. This is probably due to the colder weather so the fuel-air mixture on cold starts is more fuel-rich for longer and I am more comfortable with the car and tend to depress the accelerator a lot deeper!
In the recent cold weather the car is a bit fidgety on cold mornings but once all the mechanical bits and the tyres have warmed up, the ride becomes silky smooth. I've now thoroughly used all the 'winter options' like the heated seats, Bi-xenons, auto-dimming mirrors and rain sensor and found them all to operate faultlessly. One thing i've never noticed is whether the headlight washing feature of the Bi-xenons actually works! Perhaps I need to read the drivers manual to understand under which conditions the headlights are actually washed.
All four tyres, Michelin Pilot Sports 2's, are still in good condition and there is no loss of pressure other than ambient temperature related variations. One thing I did notice in very cold weather whilst reversing in a driveway with full steering lock to the left was that the car appeared to go over a large stone and there was a slight jolt. I got out of the car and there was nothing that the tyres had run over. I put this down to cold mechanical components and the tyre rubber slipping due to the front tyres being driven at different speeds, but it was very disconcerting! I notice that this has been reported here before and it doesn't happen when the car is warm or in warm weather.
I'm hoping to get some information from OPC Reading about the PSE soon. The last I heard from them was that they would have availability and prices in February.
