718 Cayman S - Spark Plug Issue

That's great news Adam, good to know that sense has prevailed and all the remedial work was put through under warranty.

Nice bonus getting a service bill for less than you were expecting too.

Enjoy having a fully sorted and freshly serviced car back!

Cheers - Tony

Adam,

Good to hear that along with Tony you’ve got a positive result, and it’s encouraging to hear that persistence pays off. You’d hope that your experience will be shared across the Dealership network - and hopefully with the factory as well - although with all the different franchises involved that may not be the case.

Jeff

I'm pleased to hear that Adam - a frustrating experience but we got there in the end!

I still feel there may be a weakness somewhere - what happens in four years time? Why did it happen at all? I have to go back to my OPC again soon (another story!) so I will see if they can offer any plausible explanation and, if they do, I will post it here.

Regards,

Tony

I wonder if the technicians thought to put some thread release on the bolts to make removal easier next time round? Unlikely I think, unless it’s ‘Porsche Approved’. [:(]

Jeff

Thanks Tony

Its good we both got a satisfactory solution in the end, hopefully anyone else who has the same problem can use our experience to make sure they are not taken advantage of.

I’m very disillusioned by the OPC Network, so need to find a good Specialist in the Cambridge area.

Adam

Well I just had my 4 years service on my 2016 718s and no issues found. £1137 .This included the service replacement of tyre sealant as this has a life span of 4 years and i was advised to have a belt check. Probably a little more than expected but happy from a OPC . Unfortunately no courtesy cars.
