'68 912 matching numbers?

Hi

Hope to purchase a manual, low mileage '68 912 which I haven't inspected yet but it looks good from the pics. Don't know any details..

What would the chassis / engine numbers start / end with?

Is this a 4 or 5 speed?

Any further buying tips would be most welcomed.
