6 point mounting points??

This may be a daft question, but from a cursory look (while hoovering it out at the weekend) I was wondering where the 2 lower lap straps mount/secure too?

Currently I have nice 4 points and Pole Positions but am consideing the additional straps.

There are all sorts of eletrical gubbins under both seats, but I would presume that they may actually mount some where/how to the seat subframe.

Any info, ideas, photos??

The RS has two pre-drilled / tapped holes in the floor under each seat for the harness sub straps. The ECU does not foul them (from memory), though given I have a MoTeC ECU things look a bit different under my seat ..........

however, you will need to be careful what sort of fitting you use, if you have club sport seats (SPG?), if you use the eyelet fitting then you will also need an extender to ensure that the belt doesnt foul the seat on the runner.

Whoever sells you the harnesses should be able to advise extensively on install. It is of course important that you get the mounting correct. I recently bought a schroth sett that are in keeping with the original set from Jen at MSAR-SAFETY, she was also very helpful on fitting, and supplying FIA spec extenders (FOC!). Worth giving her call.

Oh and I dont think belts will ever mount to the seat frame. In case the seat ever comes loose, you need to be pinned in by something else. I'm sure that's in the blue book........

To confirm, it's an extensively modified C2, so no existing holes that Jamie mentioned and the the Schroth (sp?) harness came with the car as did the seats.

Perhaps I'll have to crawl over/under a few cars at the "Classic" and see what they have?
 
i had to move my ecu towards the rear of the seat for the 6 point...the only way i saw possible,the ecu frame was covering the threads
 
The Cup car has the mounting eye in the floor under the seat. Make sure you use the correct parts supplied by e. g. Schroth. A mounting eye from the hardware store won´t do it.
The ECU is behind the seat.

I think, they knew what to do those days. So that´s probably the best way to install a 6 point harness in a 964.

I've put six points into my modified 964 track car....mounted the eyes through the floor pan under the seat and used a spreader plate to distribute the force. It is not as aesthetically pleasing as the factory a la Cup car but works.....and as you say, you do have a heavily modified C2.
 
the cup has ecu behind seat so it isnt a problem,my lightweight has ecu towards front of seat (under) the threads in the floor are covered by the plate holding the ecu

from memory the reason i moved mine back was the straps would tear of its edge... i think,was ages ago when i moved it

wasnt like doin the passenger side
