Come on then what's the story behind the 4k miles 993 RS being offered in the trade at the moment. White car. I'm waiting for details but may as well ask the experts here. LHD comfort / M002

suspect there coudl be a queue forming - I am not in the trade and therefore know nothing - I was over with Tom S a couple of weeks ago and it was not mentioned so guessing it's in the UK?

I was sniffing around a certain Riviera CS but I don't think i can afford it [:D]

Kev (Ferrari Yellow 64RSL and looking for a 93.....)

The car sounds incredible...

Not one I recall though....Have to assume it has been in a collection and will no doubt be passed on to another.

It's not like you could ever use it, the poor owner may have very little idea what a 993RS actually drives like!

Remember this one belonged to a plumber in the West Country ....dont know where it went .....2/3 years ago
Thought was sold to HK by a well known Yorkshire trader ??????
Digging deep with my one brain cell...................

Vic - the car you remember was the RHD car that was sold via SCOM, but correct it went to Asia.

Kasbridge - was the riviera blue CS a RHD or LHD car. If RHD was the mileage 15k or 55k? I quite like riviera blue club sports :)

Car was offered in trade to trade ( part of my new real economy work has been a small car business - www.essentialcars.co.uk , PH remove the web address if it looks like its against the rules)

Have heard nothing back when asking for more info.

There is a white 993RS (with Clubsport spoilers) being auctioned in Tokyo tomorrow/today which is a touch under 4k miles - could it be the same one ? Can post the selling price (if it sells) tomorrow if people are interested.

Sold for a touch over 18M Yen - so roughly around £142K once shipped and taxes paid in the UK.

Are you sure? That's a bargain!

Well give or take a couple of grand depending upon the exchange rate - 6350km car, marked sold at 18,215,000 Yen. No duty to be paid as it's a Euro car and so just add auction fees + shipping + VAT. That said, I'm not 100% sure what the auction fees would be for a car of this value.

You sure about the calculation? Even if car is a European Manufacturer, if car has never been registered and tax paid in EU my understanding was that you have to pay another 10% import duty so currently you have to add 30% of the value!

Pretty sure, unless the rules have changed recently. If it's proven that this car was specifically manufactured for the non-EC market then you would be liable for the extra 10% duty otherwise get a certificate of origin from Porsche sent to customs confirming EC manufacture and they waive the duty.

I think that is correct. Even if Porsche, Merc, Ferrari if destined originally for Japan and EU tax not paid, then one is liable for the import duty. Most RS in Japan are dealer supplied.

Just doing a little bit more research - if you import this car as a private individual then no duty is due - you just pay £50. This will explain why I didn't have to pay any duty on the last Porsche that I imported from Japan.
