4.0 GTS build slots ?

An article I read also stated that although the limiter/display must be fitted, it doesn't necessarily need to be activated.

At the back end of last year my tame salesman at Hatfield said that the Cayman GTS is on run-out supply now, with production finishing around May 2024, but I’m dubious that’s the case given that: a) the Porsche salesforce IMO never seems to be any better informed than we are; and b) the 718’s EV replacement isn’t due until some time next year [optimistic perhaps given the delays to the introduction of the Macan EV?] and Porsche have indicated that - as with the Macan - the ICE 718 initially will be produced in parallel with the electric cars. While Porsche can continue to make money from the 718 they will do so, even if it requires some tweaks to satisfy regulatory conformance. Of course it doesn’t mean that all variants will be produced.
Apparently the electric cars will be built alongside the 992s at Stuttgart, but since Cayman production is concentrated at Osnabrück my guess is that all the 718-series cars will continue to be built there, but who knows?
Just my tuppence worth of course.

Thanks for correction. I am waiting a build slot so let’s see what happens Last year some dealers were not sure they could even supply a car and now there a 10 new ones in stock and a few demos available but none to my spec
be mad to buy new then to your spec imo , I just got a GTS £17k off RRP ! for a demo add in dealer margin, you buy new you loose £27k in 3 months.
its 50 x better than standard though which really is rubbish. BOSE actually works very well I find once adjusted trebble up and base downa bit.Bose is rubbish so not at all essential.
SPASM is amazing for a drivers car and really what the GTS was designed on. you get stiffer rates and stiffer ARB so makes it much more of a drivers car.Hi Guys, So it’s May and still no sign of a build slot Some used models have -10mm instead of -20mm standard suspension, apart from higher ride height is there a noticeable difference in feel ? Is Bose essential or is standard sound system ok ?
Thanks
Adrian.
Suspension wise, you probably wouldn't notice the difference however if you put a PASM car next to a SPASM car you'd probably would. The Latter also come with stiffer anti roll bars. Again, depends what you want. Personally I'd stick with the standard 20mm drop.
I think you need to decide what's important and what you can compromise on. If you find the ideal car but doesn't have Bose and you HAVE to have it, then there are speaker upgrade options out there. I'd have a coiple of exterior colour options on your list and the same with wheel options.
Given the market right now you'd be better being a little open minded.
Maybe give us an idea as to what you 'must haves' are.
Dan
For me BOSE and SPASM are must haves, just makes the car nicer to use and drive daily. IMO don't "compromise" on a £90k build slot !
If one does not liking driving and it's just badge buying transport save the money ofcourse. But this BOSE is rubbish forum thing is daft. I have had 2 cars without and it's been terrible. BOSE is a BIG upgrade on sound. As SPASM is a BIG upgrade on the driving experence if you want a "drivers " car over a cars and coffee car.
You need to remember what you find important may not be the same as what Adrian finds important. Everyone is different that's what makes it fun.
I've just had a look at the Porsche approved site and there are a few cars on there with SPASM and Bose (if you want it). One in Shark Blue with silver wheels it at my OPC (Preston). I can give you the details of my sales person if it takes your fancy.

A very low mileage used came up this time last year and I jumped on it - pretty much every box ticked too so it was a no brainer.
Bose is OK imo although my previous 4.0 manual had the standard system which was fine too. I had a cargraphic exhaust controller fitted soon after purchase so with the roof down, I turn the sound down anyway on the hifi just to listen to the engine......it's way better sound track
