30th anniversary get together

What would be the possibilities of a joint get together with PCGB and TIPEC for a 944 gathering this year? I don't think there has ever been a gathering of 944 based machinery at all on it's own? A joint venture with the 924 and 968 guys as well would go down well, a few traders, would be a good do i think? Somewhere central in the UK?

Good idea, what about Donnington on 15th September? The Classic Sport Car Club race meeting would have lots of 944 & 968 action to provide a side show?

We'll have to get as many 944s as possible out to all the events next year. Apparently there's also some anniversary of the rear-engined things, so we don't ant to be over-shadowed. [;)]

Donnington sounds like a plan.

If you get enough people up for it, and Donnington is okay, then Hugo Holder is the man to contact he runs the Classic Sport Car Club, he's very 944 positive (I think one saved his life once).

I have contact details.

Paul I can't think that any rear-engined machines would over-shadow proceedings:

I won't be bringing it [;)]

How would we go about trying to get this organised? I used to regularly attend the Donnington classic bike autojumble at the start of February so may be down for this as it is back on this year. I don't mind making a few phone calls to see what we can do?

Is there a classic do of some sort at Donnington in May could tie in with that.........................i will bring the stove Al [:D]

Would be good to stay away from the weekend that was discussed for the tour of Ireland. (We could do with a sticky with that date somewhere....)

We do need to get dates organised for everything. When I'm back after Christmas I'll update the events sticky and we can start to get a proper diary going.

I'm all for getting more events where everyone is welcome, as well as the usual wealth of Club events. A few more far-flung venues can't be a bad thing, should we aim for north of Toddington Services or is that too far into the realms of "here be dragons"? [&:]

There are two classic sport car club meetings in May (7th at Brands Hatch & 26th Silverstone) so if you wanted to talk to Hugo about latching on to one of those......

Unfortunately I won't be racing at Silverstone, as I'm having some work done on my French house last two weeks of May, and you don't mess with French builders, if you know whats good for you [8|]

I guess the problem with summer months is there will always be some of us that are committed already to holidays etc.

Ps. Thanks HairyArse, it's a great car, buy one now they are getting more expensive every year.

Planning a Porker only track day at Donny next year.
