3 bar FPR - Part no?

Afternoon

Does anyone know the part number I need for the Bosch 3 bar FPR that can be used when upgrading my car?

Or does anyone have a good 3 bar FPR they wouldn't mind parting with?

Edit to add my car is MY90 and there is some discussion on Rennlist about needing a threaded type connector from late MY89 and on?

Cheers

Stuart

Thanks Jon.

Did you need a threaded one for your car? That one is not threaded.

I will check tonight if my FPR is threaded or not.

Did i start something on Sunday Stu ? [:D]
Still want dimensions for the front ARB stiffeners, too tight to buy if i can make them ! [;)]

Ok, checked my FPR and it's threaded at the fuel entry pipe unlike the one shown on the promax site which looks to be the hose and clip affair that was standard up to late MY 89. I am going to need a threaded one then?

Mines a 1990 and has a hose and clip affair afaik as I said. I would give someone like Promax or another supplier a ring and ask.

If a suitable unit can't be found, would it be possible to just cut the threaded section off the fuel line and use a clip?

Yes most probably. Think I would quite like it threaded though with 3 bar of fuel pressure coarsing through it and avoid hacking/weakening my existing pipe!

Yes! You have!! I'm sure you understand, in fact I'm sure I did exactly the same to you with the droplinks! Lol.

Not this week but maybe next I will be at Al's again and I will do that for you. You can't expect me to get under my car at the side of the road can you?? [;)]

JMG, Promax, Vittese etc didn't have one so good luck finding it.

Yes I think that's what pretty much everyone does, I know I did with mine

Ok thanks guys, save me a wild goose chase!

Out of curiousity what pressure is the S2 one, I noticed that has a threaded end? I thought the S2 maybe ran 3 bar or am I wrong?

Wont a better solution be to change the injectors for ones with the required flow rate? Adjusting flow by altering the line pressure is really just a bodge...

Bosch 550cc injectors are good for 440 bhp @ 80% duty & 3 BAR of fuel pressure. I realise that identifying the correct injector is difficult, because most kit comes from Lindsey Racing, but Bosch rate them in cubic centimetres, not in lbs.

Hi Simon

Yes you are right it is just a bodge. However it's a bodge everyone seems to do at this stage of modifying! As I don't intend seeking much more than 300 horses (ha ha, famous last words!) then the extra expense of new injectors is not really necessary just now. AFAIK the standard injectors with a 3 bar FPR are good for about 330 horses. I am planning to run about 15psi of boost with promax level 1 chips, standard turbo, standard injectors, 3 bar FPR, standard wastegate, MBC, forge re-circ valve, k&n panel, apexi s-afc controller and sci-vision MAF kit of which all is acquired already (and mostly fitted) minus the FPR! This lot should be good for around 300 horses I reckon.

I intend not spending any more money or seeking more power (runs and hides in darkened room) [&:]

Cheers

Lol!

3 bar FPR now acquired, a session at Al's place next week beckons followed by a rolling road set up! [:D]

BTW, what power are you running now Jon, that's an impressive list of mods. Got to be north of 350 surely?
