3.2 Storage

Hello All,

Unfortunately I may have to put my 3.2 into storage for a while (hopefully no longer than a year) and was wondering if anyone had advice on any preperations or precautions I need to to undertake?
 
Hi Mark,

Well, apart from washing it, drying it thoroughly and I mean thoroughly, Back to Black the rubbers, clean and polish the glass and make sure you don't have too much fuel in the tank (you will need to think about putting in some fresh stuff when you put it back on the road as fuel goes stale). The other major MUST is find a suitable piece of wood and depress the clutch peddle and wedge the wood against the front of the drivers seat. This should stop the plate sticking to the flywheel. I spent 18 months in Vietnam during the war and when i came home it was to discover my clutch was stuck. No amount of bump starting etc would free it. I had to remove the engine, free the plate from the flywheel and refit. Otherwise the car was fine as will be your 3.2. These days I run a dehumidifier in the garage (cheapy from Wicks), it keeps my baby dry all through the winter. That little lot and a soft cover, it should be just fine.

P.S. I've assumed you will be jacking it up and supporting vehicle weight on stands and not the road wheels. D.
 
Well, photos and 300 x 200 JPEGs on your PDA might help.. I had a buddy in Saigon whose Dad looked after his Chevy Stingray. At EVERY opportunity he would pull the picture out of his wallet and show his pride and joy to all who would care to look. You could try the same - for a while at least - until someone says 'give it a rest..' Of course you could always take it with you?????
