Hi, in the sunlight you can see hundreds of small what look like stress cracks in the lenses on both sides of the car. The car is outside all the time and I wonder if the material is not UV stable ? They are mainly in the upper, rear section where there is tighter curvature. I consider this to be a manufacturing defect which should be covered by the extended warranty ? Has anyone else noticed this ? As it spreads it will affect the performance of the lights because the light beam will be refracted by the cracks.

Is it definitely cracks, as looks like UV surface discolouration build up that is common to acrylic / plastic lens covers and this can be polished away.
There are several headlight cleaning kits on the market and have a search on the forum for headlight cleaning as recall Nick recommending a US Polish / restorer used for aircraft canopies.
Hope this helps

Hi Mark, thank you for your comments. If you zoom in id does look like the cracks are the full thickness of the acrylic as if its become brittle. There is some surface deterioration which could be improved, but the cracks are cracks which will only get worse. Has anyone else had these lenses replaced under warrantee ?
Definitely worth a try, but the likely response is "cause:- damage from using unsuitable cleaning products."Has anyone else had these lenses replaced under warrantee ?
Replacement after-market lenses are available from a number of sources.

Clive
You don't say how old your car is. Is it under the manufacturers 3 year warranty or the extended warranty?
Micro- cracking is also common on several Porsche models, some have been successful in a warranty claim, some have not. Worth asking the question though. If its not covered, Rennlense can replace/repair the lense.

Hi Clive, Thank you for your reply. I can imagine they may try this response, which I can understand if it is only surface degradation, but these cracks are right through the material.Definitely worth a try, but the likely response is "cause:- damage from using unsuitable cleaning products."

All I can do is put my case forward and see what happens.
