2020 Macan S - Clock losing time

Hi,

Does anyone have any experience of dealing with a Macans clock losing time?

It’s quite stark, a few days loses quite a number of minutes. We can‘t select the auto time adjust option as it doesn’t factor daylight saving time.

I’ve a 2018 Cayman and this isn’t an issue even with an older system.

I’m lost for ideas, I’ve not called my OPC because I must have missed something silly. Any ideas please?

My only thought is battery condition, does it do enough miles to keep it fully charged? As for daylight saving, that hasn't been an issue in either of my Macans since 1 Sept 2019 and I'm sure no adjustment has been required.

Appreciate the reply.

I’ve since put the Macans clock into auto update to see if it would at least keep the minutes in sync, and it does but an hour out.

I’m at a loss, flipping thing can keep time but doesn’t appear to want to fully.

If nothing else, at the end of the month the clock will be right. Haha

Just checked the car, it was showing 11:35 when I unlocked it, with my phone in hand, blue tooth on, and after I turned on the ignition and the PCM woke up the clock updated to 10:35. No issues at all.

Well let's see what happens on the 28/29th and compare notes afterwards....

So DST kicked in yesterday and the clock now reads the correct hour.

Which leaves me baffled.

Firstly, since my earlier post it’s quite apparent that the clock can keep its minutes in check, just not when it’s being manually updated.

Secondly, shouldn‘t the arrival of DST on Sunday morning have maintained the clock being out by one hour?

Well, the thing is that it's not the car doing it (or your phone) when "auto" is ticked it's taking the information from the central server. Your phone connected 24x7 does it while you're asleep but the car not being permanently online does it when the central link is established. My Garmin golf watch is the same but with no manual option, its now an hour "fast" but as soon as I prod it into connecting to the GPS satellites it will magically be corrected.

Clive, I didn't know there was such a thing and having looked for it just now, can't find it! Not the only frustration with this forum though even after the refresh has improved its look, for one, threads seem to start with the oldest post, at high level there is a "filter" to switch between ascending and descending but not visible within the Macan section
