2.7 ARB upgrade. Which one ?

I was assuming second hand when referring to cheap as opposed to new M030 (second hand M030 don't seem to exist).

Second hand a set of ARB's from a turbo or 968 look good value. Will need bushes of course... and probably something else, most jobs go that way!

Don't forget spring rates also make a big difference - but that can get expensive if you start swapping torsion bars.

As Simon has already said, stiffening up the front on its own is not a great idea, but there is some good info in that link from 924.org on various levels of suspension prep, and the spring rates / ARB's for most models
 
If the intercooler issue leaves me with change... looks like Gaz Gold (EMC spec) + 968 ARB + poly bushes. Got to be better on track than the standard setup I have now(?)

New M030 ARB parts inc bushes over £500... ebay 968 ARB + new bushes less than £150. Got to be worth a punt.

I'm using standard S2 ARB's with my KW's (with uprated springs). I guess the 968 030 might be better -and in fact i have a new 19mm rear bar sat in the garage, Just haven't got £300 for the front at the moment. My previous turbo was nicely balanced with a standard front ARB & 19mm adjustable rear, on Ledas.
 
I'll let you know how I get on assuming the intercooler leaves budget for the suspension!

Thats how they ride, if youre describing what I think you are.

No... I had some majorly soft 2 white dotted springs and have swapped them out for the earlier 3 dot blue springs. It's lowered it slightly (10/15mm) so it now sits level.
I did look at the turbo springs, but I believe they're slightly longer for the extra weight of the car so they may in fact be no better !

Hooning around or track use is not really on the cards as its a bit of a garage queen, doesn't really go out in the rain and always stays shinny as it's not a daily driver for me.

I'm am looking at a set of turbo arbs, but we'll see how that goes.
I think the turbo has an 18mm rear and 26mm front. I'm let to beleive that the 2.7 already has the 18mm rear, so just the front req.
 
Would be very surprised 2 find rear is 18mm bar. 18mm bar is turbo m030 Most likely 16mm

Later 89/91 turbos had 16mm rear bar while keeping 26.8 front

You prob have 25.5 front 16mm rear

If so be worth just using triangle brackets 1st.

 
You may be right about the sizes.
I've managed to by front and back turbo arbs with bushes for £10.[:)]
I'm feeling quite smug at the moment. There still are bargains to be had on ebay !

Irrc the 2.7 came with fairly thick anti roll bars anyway, there was a list somewhere giving sizes against models. Also somebody may have been there and tinkered before. Maybe break out the vernier and measure what you have and check the drop link bushes are ok.

This may be the link you were thinking of. Anyone fitted 968 arb's to a 944? Cheap upgrade?

I have 968 ARBs on mine, I wouldn't call them a cheap upgrade though.

On my old car I fitted turbo ARBs, powder coated and polybushed and then fitted the triangulation brackets as mentioned earlier and they made a big difference.

I believe that there is a potential issue with the brackets, didn't experience anything myself but IIRC 944 Man knows more.

They can/do cause failures in the ARB to wishbone bracket, IIRC.
 
I have the 968 MO30 bars on my coupe with the brackets at least 40k miles, no issues yet (thats cursed them! [;)] )
 
That means that you arent trying hard enough Tony! [:D]

All of the failures that I have read about have been on cars driven hard on a Sunday.
