2.7 ARB upgrade. Which one ?

If I were to upgrade the Anti roll bar which one should i upgrade to ? 968, S2, Turbo.....

Anyone had any experience with this ?
 
Sway? Without using too many Americanisms, whats it doing that you are trying to prevent? Stiffening the front alone will promote understeer (like a bitch).
 
I'm hoping that by putting turbo springs on I can bring the front down a tad. It sits slightly high on the front. I wondered weather it would need an uprated arb to compensate.
 
Irrc the 2.7 came with fairly thick anti roll bars anyway, there was a list somewhere giving sizes against models. Also somebody may have been there and tinkered before. Maybe break out the vernier and measure what you have and check the drop link bushes are ok.
 
2.7 came with 25.6mm and S2 and Turbo 26.8 I think.
Doesn't seem much difference but the guy who set mine geo says I'd be surprised. I have one but still to fit it.
Another mod that I have done is fit triangulation brackets to the drop links. I got mine from Frenchy, but they used to be listed on eBay.

Its a substantially stronger ARB, although its only a millimetre or so wider. 20% I believe, after a quick calculation.

I wouldn't want to uprate the front without uprating the back, to be honest, or you'll lose the balance.

Yes, I may be tempted to get a turbo front and rear arb having driven a turbo.
I can't stress how bouncy the front of my car is ! I'm on oil dampers with the softest spring I think ! Dampers have been changed for new so it's not that.
 
Interesting thread - the standard 2.7 front roll bar is a great big heavy piece of solid iron and it would be good to replace it with something tubular that does the same job without the Victorian marine engineering aspect. A tube with decent mounting brackets would be good. the standard one looks like something the Addams family designed .
 
All front bar are off same shape and profile. I will have 26.8 turbo bar and poly bushes for sale as Iv put 30mm front bar on

Iv got stiffing triangle brackets but have left them
Off 4 now. Went for stock rubber bushes

mainly corners. It must be the oil shocks having some effect. I'm in the process of changing the springs.

I have 968 ARBs on mine, I wouldn't call them a cheap upgrade though.

On my old car I fitted turbo ARBs, powder coated and polybushed and then fitted the triangulation brackets as mentioned earlier and they made a big difference.

I believe that there is a potential issue with the brackets, didn't experience anything myself but IIRC 944 Man knows more.
