I've owned the car for 8 months and it's been reliable. This morning, it let me down- cut out while driving, then picked up. I pulled over with it idling and had a quick look under the engine cover. Checked all connectors right. It was reluctant to come off idle. Carried on anyway and it cut out properly. It started again no problem and I turned back for home. Of course, the 5 miles back home were faultless!
I'm thinking about clogged ISV and dirty MAF. Would you say I'm on the right track?
I have recently experienced some pinking which I put down to a loose secondary dizzy cap. I cleaned the rotor arm and contacts and reassembled but it did do it again. It starts okay on either distributor, so I'm confident the belt is okay. I will replace the dizzy caps and rotor arms because they caps are of different makes!
All the connectors I removed yesterday are clean inside. I checked this because the air temp sensor on the blower ducting was very corroded, but this seems to be the only one. Knock sensor connectors both look clean.
Thank you for any support.
