1991 Porsche 944 turbo for sale

Paul , I do not understand how people are allowed to advertise there cars on this forum and not be clear with the price of the sale ?
Most other forums state that you must post the asking price of the vehicle ?

Interesting that you say this, to my knowledge it's never been raised in the 10 years or so I've been on the Porsche forums I read other than refering to HWM on PH.

Why shouldn't people ask the larger community for an opinion on price? Given that no more than one person is going to buy it, and that might well not be one of the posters here, I can't see an issue. Price-on-application isn't unusual with adverts anyway, and I'd suggest that with a specialist car that might be the way to go: get the people seriously interested on the phone to discuss it!

Regarding the £10K-plus prices for 944s, there are plenty of examples over recent years. Again, I don't know this car, but a genuine low-mileage, unmolested turbo in good condition is worth this much. Not to all of us, myself included, but to those who want exactly that and are able to afford it.

I had someone a couple of weeks ago asking me for exactly that, and with a realistic budget. I'll pass this on.

£12k sounds a sensible enough asking price, as it certainly sounds like a 5-figure car all day long, given its age, mileage, condition etc. if it had been for sale when I bought mine, I'd have paid that for it. It's increasingly hard to find late model unmolested 951's and prices are on the up. An equivalent condition 964 would be double that and an equivalent condition 993 more again, so to my mind they are not comparable.

If as described must surely start at 12K,nice late original turbos are here now.Best of luck with sale be patient, you only need one person to buy it.

Thanks for thinking along the same lines !

My first Porsche was an S2 in Guards Red that I bought in round 2003 and it was a late J Reg with the bridge spoiler and black leather seats.
I kept it for a few years and loved that car ! I spent a small fortune on the S2 and sold it back then with around 120000miles for 7500
That same S2 would now sell for between 2-5k depending on miles , history and condition of the bodywork ?
I just purchased an S2 with extensive service history 130000miles , janspeed back box , koni all round , new OMP steering wheel 155 and a gave 2250 for the S2
The last service invoice from Hartech 8000miles ago or 2008 was 3700pounds !
Unless you do DIY it cost way to much to run these cars !!!
The US is a great place to purchase 951 parts cheap and good condition !

My previous Porsche before this S2 I own now , was a 944 Turbo 87 car , I lost the plot with that 944 and it ended up standing me at just over 14K
It sold on ebay for just under 3k with the engine knocking !
new rear Koni's , Front koni coilover Cup struts , brand new wastegate, new K26 250 bhp turbo , ADM chiped ECU , 993 black leather seats , 968 rear hatch , front splitter
And on and on !!
Madness has a name and it is Porsche !
I am not going to spend a lot on this S2 ;) I think you can end up obsessed with these cars ?? loose the complete plot .
I could have owned a nice 993 by now .

Agree if it is an original unmolested car with a comprehensive service history including recent bills for belts etc. and solid bodywork then £12k would be the sort of figure I would pitch it at.

Good pictures and a well worded advert always helps sell a car. [:)]

p.s. OP don't forget to upload some pics of the car inc. interior, engine and all sides of the car [;)]

Paragon have an S2 for sale very smart in red for 10K..
dont know about that mark,,if they [paragon] cant even be bothered to put the boot badge in the right place,,makes me think what other nastys are lurking?,,,,jasonp

944t was more expensive than a 3.2 Carrera back in the day, so why not now...?

Good cars will make 5 figures sales values, to the right customer, who is some-one that understands the car is rationally thinking, a better car than a 911 of the time and some subsequent models, and who is not interested or would prefer not to draw attention to themselves.

some nice cars on sale and loads of others

It doesn't say that Paragon put the badge in the wrong place? More likely the PO.

I don't worry about this, or the sticker in the boot being gone, unless there's evidence of a major accident. It could be down to a small rear-end knock, properly repaired, which isn't a bad thing, or just an owner buying a new badge as the old one was looking scruffy.

Not everyone is as anal about getting the badge exactly right as I was! My old one was in the wrong place, with no evidence of repairs underneath, and my Lux came with a Turbo badge on.....[&:]

It is, however, a lot of money for an S2 that's over the psychological 100K milestone. It needs a LOT of history and work done to it to nudge 10K, it's a shame they don't list anything in the ad.

paul,,i was just making the point that if you are going to ask "top dollar" for a 944,,it dont inspire confidence when something as basic as the boot badge being to cock, would me me wonder what else is not "correct",,,
my car with all rust or starting of rust removed and or treated, totally resprayed and in the last 15k miles bills for over £12k,,new clutch, gearbox rebuild,,all suspension componants replaced or serviced including torque tube,,front oil seals,,etc, etc, etc and not forgetting new headlining, refitted and refurbed c-pillars and lots of other interior bits with 1 other owner, every bill, mot and 169k miles,,,,so for 10k it would have to be some car imho,,,,jasonp

hmmm... that's only a 20 minute walk from my Cheltenham office. Perhaps a lunchtime spot of tire kicking is in order tomorrow...

The 911 spider was a bit of a joke ! Needs to loose all those cheap graphics ! Now this would be right up my alley ! Item number 321155819963 Looks like a nice clean classic example and they only good up in price ! Note on the add the price difference ?? Asking 19k and selling for 13.5K ??? don't get it .

I dare you to ask for a picture to be taken next to it ! Then post it on here !
If you lost the bright colours , it might be a little different ? A bit over cooked ?
Almost looks like a Covin special .

apologies this took so long to get the advert up only just back from holidays!
