Hey folks,

well we got happily married last week and used the 944 as one of the wedding cars! Will post some pics later.

I no longer have a garage for this car and its a pain keeping it elsewhere, that plus needing some cash for a house move means it will be up for sale.

It is 100 % original with no mods, 75300 miles. It was dry stored for over 10 years as the owner moved abroad. 2 owners with Porsche service history. It is a total timewarp in amazing condition. Alpine white with sunroof and staggered D 90s. It has all the manuals, locking nuts, sony radio with 10 disc changer, 10 speaker option, immaculate black leather, bridge spoiler, the jack, spare tyre and compressor look and i'm sure are unused!

It has had had the following work done:
timing and balance belts
4 new tensioners
aux belts
water pump
bosch fuel pump
fuel pres damper
distributor cap and rotor arm
plugs, filter, fluids etc.

it has a lot of paperwork and the original, stickers and plates (private) are on the car.

It drives very well and pulls like at train. Its motd till next year and taxd till november.

I've had 3 good 944s but this is leagues ahead and was essentially bought as it was white for us to use at the wedding.

I'm based up near Stirling and invite viewers and offers. Price is difficult I would appreciate some help here with that!?

I want to move away from 944s now and need cash as mentioned, so if anyone has a Boxster or anything else and some cash my way I would be interested!

thanks!

Some detailed pictures will help you to get interest in the car. It sounds like a very nice car if its as good as described and should be commanding good money if advertised properly [;)]

I'm intrigued that lack of garage space effects a 944 but not a Boxster , still looking foreward to seeing your for sale ad
( and price) though.

Good luck

If I had a mint 944 it would have to be kept in the garage, whereas a cheaper Boxster would be fine on the driveway in the elements.

Congrats on your wedding, a white 944 as a wedding car sounds great!!

I'd also be interested to hear a rough price?

PM me if you'd prefer :)

Well, it's a mere turbo so probably not much. If it was a (superior) S2 then it would be worth more, natch ... [;)]

Someone'll take it off your hands for a couple'a bags of sand tho', I'm sure!

Oli.

I've got a wheelbarrow full of sand in the garden - got to be worth more than a coule of bags anyway!

this car is far to clean to not be garaged!

I'm just about to go away for hols but will be back for the scottish day on the 1st of sept and will take the car there.

Also meant to add it has the all important LSD

Price wise haha well theres a question, only a handful left this low mileage and clean, would love to see 12k but for the fear of being flamed I will happily talk to anyone that makes a sensible offer or package south of that!

if anyones wants to pm me feel free, as mentioned would consider a px

Without seeing it, but assuming it's as good as described, it's certainly a 5-figure car. All you need is that elusive buyer who's after the best, rather than the ones who mistakenly see the cheaper cars as somehow better value!

'Not getting enough use' is the bullsh*t sale reason that offends me the most Lee. No one wants to admit that they dont like the cars or that they have replaced them with something better...

Paul , I do not understand how people are allowed to advertise there cars on this forum and not be clear with the price of the sale ?
Most other forums state that you must post the asking price of the vehicle ?
Seems like people are teasing and hoping for big money !

I know that a nice clean 944 Turbo is a top car ? But How does it become more expensive than a nice decent 911 or a 993 ???

I love the 944's as they are cheaper to run than the 911's

But to be honest a 911 or a 993 turns a lot more heads and is more of an Icon Porsche ??

At this rate of prices on the 944 Turbo's ? it might be worth importing them from the US and converting them to right hand drive ?

US cars are fairly rust free :)

Now come on lets be serious please !
This is what you can get for your money and it will really turn heads !!!My copy and paste does not work on my lap top for some strange reason , Check item number 271253030603 on ebay ! Now given the choice what car would you rather have ;)

Agree totally that a price should be added otherwise put it on eBay as an auction

it turns heads alright!!! Wanted to puke when I saw it [:D]

The 911 spider was a bit of a joke ! Needs to loose all those cheap graphics ! Now this would be right up my alley ! Item number 321155819963 Looks like a nice clean classic example and they only good up in price ! Note on the add the price difference ?? Asking 19k and selling for 13.5K ??? don't get it .

I am sure this is a lovely example. However, are there any negatives of dry storing this car (or any car for that matter) which may not be entirely rectified with basic recommissioning?

I'm thinking engine internals etc (note, this is a general question prompted by this thread and isn't intended as an implied negative on this car).

not sure if that is just an OT comment, but just to clarify I never said it was through lack of use.

also as usual a few people havent read my whole starting thread, I said I would appreciate some help pricing it as it is very hard to say, my logic was to do this prior to to putting an advert up.

I would still appreciate some help!

Will post pics soon realise that doesnt help!

I must admit, I have the same thoughts.

The 951 will always be the desirable 944, but do they really sell for five figures? I'm a DIY guy, always have been, and if it stacked up I'd take my chances on a 'cheap' 951 that everyone tells you will be a money pit, and even if I was looking to buy a tidy one that's ready to go, the most I could consider spending would be £6k. Regardless of asking price, they all have the potential to cost money - you can never guarantee what's around the corner. If I was spending £10k on a classic Porsche it probably wouldn't be a 944, I'd put the extra towards something else, as you suggest, something like an early 911 or 964 (if I only I had persued a 964 a few years back!). There will always be someone ready to pay top dollar for these types of cars (951), but I fear it may take the seller a long time to find the right buyer.

I think with the price rises of the 951's I'll end up going for an S2, but I know in the back of my mind I'll still hanker for a Turbo!!

Your ideas of prices for 964s are out of date, I think. Undesirable specs like autos and Targas drag the prices down a bit, but right now the range of the prices of manual 964 coupes (C2 or C4) on sale over at Pistonheads is between £16k and £26K.

Someone else mentioned the 993: the prices of the currently available 993 manual coupes (excluding Turbos) range between £16k and £40K on the same site.
