Hi,
I plan to refurbish my calipers over the winter and currently in the planning process at the momment getting all the bits I need together. Can anyone recommend where I can get the right seals from? As I've brought a set of calipers from a that I plan to refurbish first then put on the S2. I have been looking at the calipers and i'm wondering if the the front and rear calipers are interchangeable?
Also, while I'm doing this would you all be interested in seeing photos of how this is progressing? If so I will make a photo diary of progress.

Jason, the front and rear calipers are physically the same but run different sizes of pistons. Bigg Red sell the seals.

Can you tell us what the differences you know of are?

Always useful, even if it has been done before, as you never know when you might come across, and overcome, problems the first person didn't.

Thank you all for the information. I plan to strip down the calipers this weekend. A couple of questions.
1. Whats the easiest way to get the pistons out?
2. I will buy the seal kit from Bigg red. How does it fit? Do the seals fit on the piston or in the cylinder.
3. The calipers are from a 968 and ive made some enquiries and I understand that they will fit my S2 with no problem. Can anyone confirm that this is correct?
Thanks in advance

I would renew pistons, seals and dust covers , spend time cleaning up bores etc.To get pistons out you may have to use compressed air but use block of wood to stop them flying out can be very dangerous , like a large bullet !

1. Pressure air, you should have a air compressor
2. Seals are in the cylinders (use rubber lubricant when installing seals/pistons)
3. Direct fit

Most of your questions are covered in my project story:
