All 944s have two rear seats. 1982 was the first model year although 944s were first built at the end of 1981.

Im not altogether sure what youre actually asking...

Not sure what the seats have to do with anything.
I think the question is whether the front arches are wider than standard.

well im trying to find out if the wider arches front & back are normal as everyone ive looked at doesnt have wide arches

no ive only looked at other 944's, on the log book it only says 944 but as i said none of the others ive looked at have got the wide arches

As has been suggested, you seem to be confusing 944's with 924's

All 944's look like the one in the photo........

Got loads of pics of 944s, but they all look the same as yours. It's the 924 that odesn't have the flared arches but I haven't got a shot of one of those handy!

ok would there be any reason then as to why the wheels are set in the arches about 3", ive attached a pic to give you an idea what i mean

Someone's fitted later wheels (D90's) with the wrong offset to an early car. Can't see that it's any more complex than that.

Sorry, but that is funny!

As Oli says, some joker has fitted wheels from a later car with ABS hubs to your pre ABS car.

Bit of a problem that as you could get rubbing issues as the wheels will be too close to the inner arches!

You either need new wheels or some very big spacers......

Something with a bigger offset. I think that the standard fitting would have been teledials or cookie cutters, but others will correct me on this.

You'd do well to change them; wheels with that wrong an offset will ruin the handling and may mean it eats wheel bearings. The proper wheels will make it much nicer to drive.
