1979 911SC Targa - Heater Controls

Can anyone confirm the difference between a left hand drive car and right hand drive car's heater control unit on a 1979 911SC. I have to replace the unit in my car but there are none available for right hand drive cars. There are new units available from Porsche for left hand drive cars. It may be that the facia of the unit is the same for both right and left hand drive cars. Is the facia of the heater control panel the same for both left and right hand drive ? My problem is that the bulb holders on rear of my facia panel have become distorted with age and will not hold the small light bulb holders that illuminate the panel. Does anyone know who may have a new or good replacement unit ?

Hi,
Have you tried the car breakers, like Porsche Apart?
The Porsche post mag and the 911 & porsche mag have lots of breakers listed.
Have you tried type 911 and the Porsche shop all listed in the above mags.
Cheers
John

Morning John,
I have tried a few breakers without success. They all say that the older cars are few and far between. I will call Porsche Apart today. I had hoped that if the facia panel on a left hand drive car was the same as a right hand car, I could replace just the facia of my existing controls which all work well apart from the bulb holders.
