1976 RHD 911 restoration thread

Good Friday 2013, and the car is now permanently on the road with only few minor electrical issues to go through. After investing so much in time (20 months), money (enough to buy a much newer 911) and emotion, I will try my best to use the car daily for the whole summer. Yesterday I was very busy driving, a friend (long term owner of the brown 912E in the foreground) took this quick photo of the two '76 cars together. No doubts I will make some camera time in the future, but for now I prefer to make time for MILES so this will do!

ORIGINAL: petercook Hi - only just caught up with this thread, don't use the forum much. If this car was manufactured in July 1975 as a RHD then it will be a 1975 model - the 1976 model began in August 1975. The 911S model ceased production at the end of the 1975 year, for 1976 there was the 911, Carrera 3.0 and the Turbo - no 911S I'm afraid, only in the USA. Peter
Hello Peter You are 100% correct. 9116300772 left the factory in July 1975 - and was registered in January 1st 1976 according to the V5. This is why I refer to it as a 1976 car. It cannot be more "mid-year" than this...

These photos mark the end of the restoration - after 20 months of tribolation, the car is officially back on the road, hopefully for another 36 years!

Where have all the photos gone? I may have just acquired a 2.7 Targa project - these pics would of been valuable :-(

Great to see original colour - always seems a shame to change it from the original, after all the factory Certificate of Authenticity will always give the game away. My registration NLP 85P, build date August 1975 therefore just a '76 MY but not registered until March 1976.

my drivers seat back release cable has broken, got a new one but not sure how to fit it, is there anyone who can give me some advise? I was told it was easy,

thank you in advice for any advice, it is 911 2.7 1976 RHD

Another brought back to life ,life is good some times ,its good that you put time on the car thus putting some soul into her

Paul (see mine on the front cover of PP)
