We are still a long way off these prices under the current market conditions. Admittedly, there were a couple of RS sold through auction for about £85k, but one was reshelled and the other one had a story as well. Blue chip provenance and correct state of the whole of the car will still command a six figure sum, I'm afraid. HTH, Bert
 
That 'book' is a compilation of road tests / features over the years ... that feature was done in 2001 & even then I would say they got the pricing slightly wrong ..... in the same feature they have 964RS's at £20K- £30K ... I seem to remember when '64RS's were this money a '73RS was still selling for quite a bit more
 
hello all,

i have just been reading evo magazine's porsche supercar 'bookazine". i don't know when exactly it was prined, but it must be fairly recent as it includes the 997 GT2.

the first arrticle is a very nice piece on a 911 giant test entitled '911 heaven'. quite rightly so it begins with a review of the 1973 Carrera RS. now i'm sure many of you will share my view that this is the ultimate dream 911 and it certainly occupies the number one slot in my dream garage. i know that the lightweight cars command a premium over the touring cars, but i would glady have a touring if possible. i have always thought that original cars would be well out of my reach, touring or otherwise, but now this article tells me that an RS touring can be mine for a little over GBP30,000!!!

is this true? if so where do i sign? the only '73 RS cars i have seen on ther market have been in excess of GBP100,000 in recent years (not that i have seen that many for sale at all!). indeed some replicas are commanding almost that figure!

so if any one can point in the right direction to a genuine 1972 2.7 RS touring for this kind of money i would be forever grateful!! :)
