Have you submitted members ship number and agreed to terms?Have requested to join both North and South registers FB groups, one replied and accepted straight away, the other one I am still waiting to be approved/accepted......
I am sure if you have submitted membership number and agreed to termsYep, done it twice now, it is still saying pending and "You'll be notified if your request to join is approved."
Just canceled the request to join and will try a 3rd time
you will soon be approved .
Correct procedure should be followed for everyone's safe guards I think you would agree.
Sad to hear after 26 yearsVery well said Paul. Disgusting club politics. I am likely leaving the club after 26years membership. Its supposed to be democratic, not a dictating board.
Not the first I know of over the last few months and won't be the last I suspect.Hope you do not throw your hat in, not worth it, just get the most from the Club as you can or need.
Cliff,Ian
With respect try finding an RS for every Boxster variant.
Plus I think we are dividing the group even more by doing so.
If you are an official you will know finances do come into play.
Regards the two Technical guys we have I can confirm they are well up to the task Steve Winter has unlimited knowledge having a Porsche Garage for years.
But we encourage members like yourself to contribute on here or FB.
As yourself my opinion.
Thanks for your reply. I respect your opinion and recognise the effort that you and Tracy have put into the Boxster register. My original post was offered as an alternate to the North/South geographical split (which is already catered for in the region structure).
I was not suggesting a Register for every Boxster variant, simply one for each of the four main model generations to date. This is consistent with 911 registers, although they do have separate registers for some niche models.
What are the club's plans when the electric 718s come along? Are they to be added to the existing Boxster register?
I think you know that I am not a club official, but I do understand that finances will come into play for the initial setup, changing the website, setting up social media and forum structures, and getting messages out.
Adding more Registers in Porsche Post is not going to be a significant cost. The reality is that Register and Region reports in PP are a throwback to the pre-digital age. These brief monthly reports could easily be posted on the website with links included in monthly emails. This would create space in PP for more detailed reports of significant club, region and register events. My opinion is that fewer, more detailed reports would be more in keeping with the much improved PP.
Regarding finding an RS, you have already done part of the job finding an additional RS for the split group, so it is possible. Yes it may be a bit of an effort, but not a reason for not sounding out members to find out if they would support single model registers and be willing to volunteer as RS for a specific register. With single model registers, the register sizes will obviously diminish, making each one easier to manage. Registers can still organise joint events.
I was not questioning your technical guys, but having more focussed registers will not detract from their value while, perhaps, enabling more member support for each model.
Just some thoughts for you and any interested club officials to consider.
Wishing you all success in whatever route you take.
Ian
I respect your views after all we suppose to be democratic.
Who's knows what the 718 electric brings we have no say over what the board decides just like members don't, regarding the split of the Boxster Register and social media I think my personal views come across I don't think it's the right decisions as been said by myself and others on fb it's just dividing splitting alienating.
Regards the RS for the South Tracy had no say in the matter not even consulted on candidates for the roll, as many have said an assistant in the South would have been a better solution in my view and for many if taking that route.
RS South hardly far flung South he resides in West Midlands.
It's never been an issue the size of the Boxster Register many are almost as big now days.
Everyone has there views on PP but being at the coalface so to speak people I meet still enjoy the PP to thumb through with a coffee of course digital online is available.
Tracy has just submitted 2 online articles in the Boxster section you might enjoy Ian take a look.
Although a Register does not have to do meets events ect Tracy has organised various things over the years, alone this year 4 in the South 2 in the North with a 3rd North meet coming soon
At the end of the day we have supported members but as the old saying goes you can't please all the people all of the time.
Cheers
Interesting use of admin powers I feel. Nothing like a bit of free speech and debate! Not even the courtesy of explaining why my posts are being deleted - simply declines to answer. How very professional.

Just a point of clarification. The post above is referring to Facebook post and not this forum.
Us forum admins always try to explain why a post has been deleted.
Whatever decision was made at board level, (and they are entitled to make decisions on our behalf), surely it would have been courteous to involve Tracy and Cliff, (and possibly the wider membership of Boxster owners) into them at an early stage, rather than a fait accompli. After all the years that they have served the club, surely a certain amount of respect was due.
I don't know who Matt is but I wish him all the best in his new role. I would suggest he and Tracy work hand in glove to support all Boxster owners.
Who knows, maybe one day the North and South Boxster registers may once again merge!

Thank you for you kind comments and wisdom of experience.
So much has happened I think it best I don't comment to much regarding the split and poor handerling.
We received many complaints regarding the above but not Tracy's decision.
I know we will support all members North or South as we always have done, I know a lot of members are frustrated with the split and even social media baffles me.I
Best I leave it at that.
