Power socket in footwell

I plug a Nextbase dashcam into my power outlet in the passenger footwell of a 2020 992.1 car.

I was always under the impression the socket would 'switch-off' after approximately 30 mins after locking. Having been in the OPC this week I noticed the camera seemed to be permanently on several hours later. I removed the camera and refitted it this morning whilst the car was switched-off and the socket remained live despite the car being off and there being no load on the circuit for about 12 hours.

Does anyone know if this is a software thing or is there a workaround without directly wiring into the car. It's under extended warranty so I'm wary of even minor modifications.

On my 718 I do the same thing. Although always on charge went not in use it appears to be on permanently with no apparent ill effects over the last 2 years?

I can see if the car is connected to a charger it's not going to be a problem but unless it's charging the battery will get run down low fairly quickly ? This didn't happen previously.
