Fellow Members,

I am wondering if I could ask for your help?

Back in 2004 I went to Lancaster Porsche in Cambridge with my Father to collect his first new Porsche 911 (996) Turbo. Having had model Porsche's on my window sill as a young boy, it was a day I will never forget. Unfortunately the car only stayed in the family until 2006, as a result of divorce it was sold back to Lancaster in Cambridge. It has always been a dream of mine to find the car with the hope of one day getting it into my garage.

I managed to find the car in 2015 via a google search of the registration AE04WYP, as it was listed for sale at W Specialist Cars Ltd in Cheltenham. Unfortunately the company was no longer in business and I suspect the advert was maybe a year old.

Having the original purchase invoice from Lancaster I was always hopeful that one day I would find the car again. Alas, about 5 years ago the registration dropped off of the usual car apps that track a registration for TAX and MOT. My gut feel was that it had been written off. Until earlier this week I decided to check the registration again only to find that the car is taxed and back on the road!

Has anyone seen a Seal Grey 996 Turbo with the registation AE04 WYP?

If you have or if you know the owner, please reach out to me. I would love to find the car!

Edited for clarification.

I suspect when the registration disappeared about five years ago from the road tax and MOT tracking apps, the car had a "private plate" on it. We have used the same registration number on our current 996.2 and previous Carrera 3.2 and during those times, their original registration numbers wouldn't show up on vehicle searches. Not helpful in locating the car I'm afraid but could be the explanation.
