Instrument lighting

I have a 2013 981 S, PDK. I noticed that when the exterior lights are off, the centre and left side instrument dials don’t have any backlighting. The LED type lights stay on (speed, gear, mileage), and the right hand dial with the map stays lit also.
Is this normal? Only recently noticed it on a dull day when the auto lighting went off. TIA, Andrew.
