For the longest day of the year, our traditional evening run will be heading north to Portessie for a good drive, delicious food and beautiful sunset views of the Moray Firth. To the east of Portessie lies Bijou by the Sea (https://en-gb.facebook.com/bijoubythesea/about) which will be opening their Catch restaurant late especially for this event. The restaurant is on the sea front, with a private car park, dolphins in the bay and seals on the rocks making it the ideal place to mark the solstice sunset.
For members coming from Aberdeen and south, R2 crew member, Martin will be leading a run from Aberdeen to Buckie, meeting at 6pm at Craibstone Park & Ride for a 6.30pm sharp departure. The route, as usual, will include good back roads arriving at Bijou by 8pm for supper at 8.15pm. After the solstice, as light will be failing, there will a shorter (quicker) run back to Aberdeen via Keith and Huntly, .
The menu choices for the evening are:
