single use bolts using russian steel canceled

can anyone help! my 911 c4 gts went in to the garage in november with a rattle. The problem was diagnosed as being a safety bar behind the dashboard, the problem is the bolts that hold it in are single use which have been taken off and they cannot be ordered anymore as they are made from russian steel which is now sanctioned. Porshce now has to find a new supplier.... you couldn't write it.
Basically i've not had my car for two months and Porsche have no idea when i might get it back.
It's 11 months old on a lease, Porsche are being completely unhelpful and i'm about to start legal proceedings unless anyone has any ideas?
 
The easiest way to get you back on the road would be to reuse the old bolts, but Porsche won't entertain this.
If you are able to ascertain the specification, there are specialist commercial fastener suppliers that will engineer a set for you.
You're not alone actually. I know of a 992 GT3 also off the road due to lack of single use subframe bolts.

Thanks Clive, unfortunately it's out of my hands.
I suggested just that but as it's a warranty thing they won't.

I bet there's a lot more people out there in the same boat!
 
Sorry to hear about your situation. What kind of rattle was it? Was it a rattle or a creaking noise when the car goes over bumps and undulations in the road?

Reason I ask is that my car has developed a creaking noise when going over bumps and undulations (See my thread for further details), dealer doesn't think it is suspension related and thinks it is some bracket behind the dashboard and says the dashboard or part of it needs to come out. I'm resisting because I don't want my dashboard to come out and therefore going to see another OPC for a second opinion. I'm now wondering if it is the same problem you have?

Because I think I'd rather Iive with the noise and just put the volume up than have them take my dashboard out, damage something else in the process and then lead to other rattles and creaks!!!

Hi

I had my 911 GTS for less than a month and get a clicking sound from behind the centre of the dash. My OPC have been excellent and given me an equivalent car whilst they investigate. Apparently there are a number of reasons for the sound that include an issue with the petrol tank weld. However, as you mention it could also be dash bolts that are not reusable and sourced from Russia. They have indicated that it will be at least a month to supply the parts.
If it helps I’ll talk further to my workshop manager to get more details for you?
