50 years ago the Porsche 911Carrera RS 2.7 received a rear spoiler. This made it "Germany's fastest sports car" and gave it its nickname "Ducktail". First Porsche had doubts in its success; the marketing department didn't expect anybody to buy one, but in the end Porsche built three times as many as they had planned to. driveXperience took this legendary 911 for a ride on the German Autobahn and into the Black Forest. Porsche engineer Tilman Brodbeck tells how he came up with the idea of a rear spoiler. And he discloses a secret: how did the Ford Capri help give birth to the "Ducktail"...?
