Modifying a Cayman for track use
Ralph reports: This month it’s my turn to write a piece. Happily inspiration came from a member requesting thoughts on buying and modifying a Cayman for track use. Because everyone has different budgets and use requirements, my comments are going to be somewhat general. Use can vary from trailered track focused through to touring with a couple of trackdays a year. I am not commenting on engine or exhaust modifications, as handling and weight improvements give better returns, other than to note early cars can suffer from oil surge on track, so deep oil pan solutions should be considered.
