Whilst waiting for various engine parts to arrive, a quick refresh of the gearbox including flushing the old oil, checking inside to confirm no corrosion and replacing the oil seals was undertaken. The gear linkage rods are over two metres in length and pass through the cabin to the rear of the gearbox. All of the joints were worn badly, the final joint is a ball with a knob on that moves within a cage, which required to be built up with weld and the shift rod that passed under the engine had to be modified.
