This month's news from your 992 Register

Fourteen 992 Register members met at Porsche Centre Leicester on 6 August for the second event we’ve arranged for the Register. Coffee was available on arrival, and this relaxing time allowed the start of much ‘992 chatter’ between owners. The Leicester team also provided tasty bacon and sausage rolls for the guests.

Callum and Alex took the time to discuss specific questions regarding PCM systems and explained elements of the system to help some members become more confident in making these newfound changes to their own systems.

We would like to thank Callum, Alex, Porchia and Amy for their friendly, professional and caring approach to all our 992 Register guests, which made the event a very enjoyable social occasion.
A 12-question quiz on the 992 gave even the most experienced Porsche owner a difficult time and was won by James Hogg of Milton Keynes who scored 8/12. James received a gift from the Centre and a new ‘992 Register silver key ring’.

Many thanks to the Leicester team for enabling this successful event to take place.

New Porsche 911S/T
Porsche has celebrated the 911’s 60th birthday with a ‘purist’ special that weighs just 1,380kg and pairs a short-range manual shifter with the 518bhp flat six from the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

The new Porsche 911 S/T

Stringent weight-shaving measures mean the 911 S/T is also the lightest of the current-generation 911s. It’s 45kg lighter than a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS and 70kg lighter than the 911 GT3 RS, despite its more overt road-going focus.

Lightweight glass, magnesium wheels and a lithium-ion starter battery also help to save weight.
Effectively a Porsche 911 GT3 Touring with GT3 RS underpinnings, the new 911 S/T has been conceived as a tribute to the racing version of the 1969 911 S and, above all, aims to promote ‘sheer driving enjoyment’.
