Fourteen 992 Register members met this morning at Porsche Solihull for the first event I had arranged for the Register.
Following coffee, bacon rolls and introductions, we assembled into the viewing area and had a detailed introduction to some areas of a new Carrera T which we don’t normally see, underneath, inner brakes and steering assemblies. Several had questions for Porsche Solihull’s Quality Technician ’James’ who enlightened all with the technical details of the car and addressed their enquiries.
A 10-question quiz on the 992 was prepared by the Solihull team, which gave even the most experienced Porsche owner a difficult time but was won by John Stokes, who was presented with gifts of a Porsche umbrella from the Porsche Solihull and a new ‘992 Register’ keyring from the register. Winner of the furthest travelled prize was given to Huw Jones who travelled from Cardiff.
Many were grateful of a detailed presentation of the ‘Infotainment system’ by Solihull’s ‘Porsche Pro’ Sam Jepson who offered several useful tips regarding the vast array of personalisation’s available on the systems.
Afterwards, around half of the owners took a short drive to Billesley Manor Hotel and Spa for a super lunch, in their private dining room and gave everyone the opportunity to enjoy the likeminded fellowship and informal conversations. ‘Honey’, a five-year-old Cockapoo, watched with interest as good as gold while everyone was having lunch, no doubt ready for hers later.
Overall, it was a great day and wonderful to have chance to discuss all things ‘992’.
