This month's news from your 968 Register

Register cars
With my Amaranth Violet 968 Sport back on the road, we fixed the passenger door central locking with a new module from Adam at Porsche Centre Stockport and I finally took off the private plate that the car came with that I always hated. Unfortunately, we instantly found a new issue. The odometer has stopped working, which is a fairly common problem. So, at time of writing, I’m checking out the best solution and getting the car ready for the Register spring meet.

There’s not a huge amount of progress on the Schwarz Metallic Black Sport, as my mechanic has been finishing my 914 race car that I will be selling shortly. However, I did manage to get the Cup 2 wheels fully refurbished at Wheel Warehouse in Stockport in gloss black with brand new Toyo Proxes Sport tyres, again supplied by Demon Tweeks. I also took a trip up to see Jonny at Brake Caliper Refurbs in Rochdale to drop off my calipers. As the car is all black, I decided to go with red to lift the car a little. I’ve used these guys before on a Speed Yellow 911 and their work is the best I’ve seen. I’ll share some pictures next month.

Other than that, the car got its first wash and I’ve been gathering a few more parts for the recommission. The car will hopefully head to the workshop in about a months’ time. I’ve also noticed my door cards are a little shabby. A long shot, but if anyone has a pair of Sport door cards, please let me know!

Nigel Bennett’s 968 Sport in the lovely Slate Grey

Congratulations to Nigel Bennett on the purchase of his, new to him, low mileage 968 Sport in the lovely Slate Grey. It’s a rare find, apparently with its previous owner for over 20 years. Enjoy the new car Nigel!

Andrew Jebson’s stunning orange 968 race car

I was also lucky to view Andrew Jebson’s awesome orange 968 race car in Lincolnshire before it went to auction at Race Retro with Iconic Auctioneers. Up close the car was stunning and I was very tempted to bid, but with three 968s at present another may have been a step too far! The car did go on to sell, so hopefully it’ll be enjoyed on a few tracks this summer.

Up close the car is stunning
