April’s Coffee and Cake event was a short scenic drive from Exeter Services to Dunkerswell Airfield near Honiton in East Devon. Few of the 23 cars owners who took part chose to take up the optional flight which was originally available, so the aircraft was cancelled. Members however enjoyed a really good coffee and cake in the airfields cafe. It’s a very busy airfield with a constant flow of not only aircraft, but helicopters and sky divers which can be viewed from within the cafe. After coffee most participants then visited the airfields Heritage Museum, which tells the story of its life as an American airfield in the Second World War.
