Autumn Drive

Autumnal Drive around Cornwall

Despite a Met Office yellow weather warning, 15 intrepid people in 8 cars gathered on 17th September at Cornwall Services near Bodmin for what was supposed to have been a scenic drive. Interestingly, it was predominantly 911’s, from 993’s to a 991 that took part.

The route meandered along Cornwall’s north coast to Hayle then crossed to Marazion on the south coast for lunch via a road which on a clear day, gives panoramic views of Mounts Bay. No chance on this day however.

Rain and low cloud had hidden many of the best coastal views, but the worst weather, heavy rain and thunder, gave most of us a good soaking as we sought somewhere to eat in Marazion.

The weather cleared after lunch, so we continued in small convoys via the King Harry ferry and the Roseland Peninsula before dispersing home.
