Autumn Scenic Drive

Mixed weather but great turnout!

Devon's fickle September weather teased us with a fine Saturday 23rd and then mocked us with a sunny Monday 25th, reserving cloud and drizzle for the Autumn Run on Sunday 24th. But R15 laughs in the face of meteorology and a happy band of 24 cars and assorted occupants assembled at Exeter Services for the prospect of Alan's 118 mile run through the green, seductive hills of East Devon and West Somerset, two more cars joining along the way.

Setting off in groups of four or five they followed a sinewy single sinewave of a route to Cullompton, Culmstock, Hemyock and Dunkeswell, past the airfield towards Honiton, through Colyton and Whitford, flirting with the A35 to Raymond's Hill and turning off towards Crewkerne and ending up at the Windwhistle Inn for lunch.

After lunch we departed for a similarly sinuous return route to take tea at Bickleigh Mill.
