January news

This month's news from your Gloucestershire Region

We are writing this as the November ‘Lockdown 2’ was due to end and, having just learnt that most of our Region will be put into Tier 3, the highest alert level, our plans for some December outdoor meets have now been scuppered.

The good news is we have a few venues with suitable car parks that are keen to host an outside meet when local restrictions allow us. We are also in contact with Prescott Speed Hill Climb with a view to holding a meet in their paddock and, if allowed the use of their club house.

With news of that no less than three vaccines may well be on their way, potentially making 2021 a much more ‘normal’ year with actual, real life events, we are feeling more positive that we can book some weekends away, ‘drive n’ dines’ and general get-togethers.

Stuart’s 944 Cabriolet passed the MOT and is back and amongst good company

Transaxle joy
Stuart’s 944 S2 had a six-month extended MOT that ran out in November. Having just had a new clutch it was great that no more work needed to be done for the new MOT, now we just need permission to get out, meet our Porsche friends and no doubt make some new ones along the way.

Looking forward to next year
We will do our best to put on some great Regional events for 2021 on top of the planned events that Porsche Club are arranging for the Club’s 60th Anniversary.

Although this report is in the January Porsche Post, you could well be reading it late December, if so, we hope you had a good Christmas.

We also wish everyone a happy and safe New Year.

Take care and hopefully see you soon.

Stuart and Elaine
