Road Trip to the Peak District

Our Tuesday monthly road trip pushes the boundaries this month with a days drive to the Peak Disctiect.

It’s a beautiful part of the country and - just - doable in the day.

There will be two meeting points.

For the early birds, 8-8.30am meet at the Runway Visitor Park at Manchester Airport.
Breakfast with BA ‘Alpha Charlie’ Concorde, which is very impressive close up.

There will also be a meeting at a coffee stop (tba) in the Peaks around 10am. I'll post details here.

We will head to the Peaks taking in in the Cat and Fiddle to Buxton, Goyt Valley, through to Bakewell and the Edale Valley with a coffee stop at Castleton. Back through Winnats Pass and lunch a lovely little pub on the Chatsworth Estate; The Devonshire Arms at Pilsley. Not too far from Bakewell.

After lunch trickling on southwards via Carsington Lake, Ashbourne and Lichfield towards home.

There are some spectacular lookouts.

Some who don’t fancy the early start are staying at Marriott near to the airport.

Thanks to Ben @peakporsche for the fabulous picture. He posts a shot of his Spyder in the region each day and will meet us there.
