The event scheduled for our SUV members has now been opened up to all members. I think we may have overestimated the number of members in the region with SUV’s. However, this is great news for the rest of us, as this is going to be a great family day out.
Cars will meet for 9.30am at Dobbies Garden Centre EH52 6PA in Livingston close to Junction 3 of the M8. We will place cars into groups and send the groups off starting at 10am at short intervals to avoid groups arriving at the initial location at the same time. The route should take around two hours at a very relaxed pace and has plenty of time for groups to take in the scenery and locations along the way.
Each waypoint location will be provided and groups will follow the same route finding some simple clues along the way. We would recommend each team has a mobile phone to help navigate to each waypoint using Google Maps.
The treasure hunt will visit a number of historic sites and movie locations across West Lothian with cars arriving at the final location Doubletree by Hilton, St Margaret's Head, North Queensferry KY11 1HP for lunch around 12.30pm. A great location with incredible views of the three bridges crossing the Firth of Forth. (We await confirmation that this location is available)
Teams will be asked to take photos of their cars along the route for upload to the Region 1 Facebook site and the Region's organisers will vote for the best photo from each group from the day. Each group with a correctly completed clue sheet will receive a prize.
